About

Billie Colson

I've been drawing since I was little.  It's funny, when I was little, I drew horses, cats and dogs.  It seems like I still like that subject matter.

My subject matter is varied.  I am inspired by what is happening around me at the moment.  In the fall, I'm inspired to paint fall scenes. In the spring time the flowers are popping up everywhere.  I'm not great at growing them, but thankfully my neighbors are.

I like to create artwork to make people smile.  With my funny birds and animals I love seeing the reactions of people to my funny work. Even with some of my more serious work, I try to include a bit of whimsy to the painting in some small way.  Sometimes a funny title helps with that.

One of the things I love about having the Gallery is that it gives me an opportunity to meet with the art buying public and see what they respond to.

I don't think I'll ever get tired of doing artwork.  There are just too many things that call to me to create.
