Independence Gallery Hosts Dual Fundraising Event: 65 Roses for Cystic Fibrosis and Heal NET Foundation

– For the past 13 years, Independence Gallery in Downtown Loveland Colorado has been a proud host and sponsor of the annual "65 Roses for Cystic Fibrosis" event. Billie Colson, the artist-owner of Independence, has a personal connection to the cause, as her granddaughter was born with Cystic Fibrosis (CF).

In an extraordinary move this year, Colson has decided to expand the scope of the event by introducing an additional fundraiser for the Heal NET Foundation. This decision comes from Colson's close ties to a family member battling Neuroendocrine Cancer, also known as NETs.

Neuroendocrine tumors are rare cancers originating in specialized cells called neuroendocrine cells. They can manifest anywhere in the body.

The unique aspect of this dual fundraising event lies in the collaboration of two significant causes – CF and NETs. Throughout the month of February, artists will contribute rose-themed artwork for the "65 Roses for CF" fundraiser. Simultaneously, the gallery will support the Heal NET Foundation by incorporating the Zebra, their official mascot, into the event.

But why the Zebra? In medical circles, the term "zebra" is used to refer to rare diseases like Neuroendocrine (NET) Cancers. Medical professionals often emphasize looking for common causes, leading to the saying, "If you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras." However, the Zebra symbolizes the importance of acknowledging the uniqueness of each NETs case, as no two are alike, much like the distinctive stripes of a zebra.

This February, Independence Gallery invites the community to participate in a one-of-a-kind shopping experience supporting two worthy causes. All specially marked art sales throughout the month will contribute 100% of proceeds to both the CF Foundation and the Healing NET Foundation.

Join us in making a difference and celebrating the diversity of art for a cause.
