It's Never too Late to become what you've been.

So many of the artists I meet are “Emerging Artists”. They are not the young under 30 but the Baby Boomer generation. They had to put off their creative endeavors to careers and or raising a family. Many of those artists are now coming back into that passion as they retire. Their desire to create has always been there, and now they have the time to pursue it. I’ve met people, making knives, painting, doing woodworking, painting, pottery & photography just to name a few, that are diving in now that they are retired.

It took me a while to think of a heading for this blog. A couple of ideas were,

“Act 2, Second Chances, or New beginnings”. Ultimately, “It’s never too late to become what you’ve always been”, seemed right.

I am inspired by how many of these emerging artists are out there. We have many of them at Independence Gallery. We look forward to the reactions to what we do.

What’s your reason for putting off your passion? Don’t worry, there’s still time.
